Overview
Ninja is a real-time AI conversation coach for iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac, built by Gromitron Industries, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). Ninja listens to a live conversation or practice session and provides short, useful coaching prompts in the moment.
This policy explains exactly what Ninja collects, how that information is used, the services that help power it, and the choices you have. We collect only what the app needs to coach you, we don't sell your data, and you stay in control of your sessions.
What Ninja Collects
Microphone Audio (during a session)
When you start a live coaching or practice session, Ninja captures audio from your device microphone so it can understand the conversation. Microphone access is requested through your device's operating system and is always user-initiated — Ninja only listens while you have an active session running, and you can stop at any time.
Audio is processed transiently to convert speech into text. Ninja does not store raw audio recordings, and it does not share raw audio recordings beyond the real-time transcription step described below.
Transcribed Text & Conversation Context
The spoken words are converted to text and, together with the context of the session (such as the Playbook and coaching mode you chose), are used to generate coaching suggestions and to drive the AI practice partner.
Session Data on Your Device
- Transcripts of your sessions
- Coaching history and suggestions Ninja produced
- Performance debriefs and learning notes
This session data may be stored locally on your device so Ninja can show your history and help you improve over time. You can delete this local data at any time from within the app.
How Ninja Uses Your Data
- To transcribe what is said so it can understand the conversation
- To generate real-time coaching suggestions and exact phrasing
- To power the AI practice partner and its synthesized voice in practice mode
- To keep a local history and performance debriefs so you can track your progress
We do not use your conversations for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Third-Party Services & Sub-Processors
To work in real time, Ninja sends data to a small number of trusted providers. Each has its own privacy policy and handles only what is needed for its part of the job:
- Deepgram — receives session microphone audio to perform real-time speech-to-text transcription. (deepgram.com/privacy)
- Anthropic (Claude) — receives transcribed text and conversation context to generate coaching suggestions and to power the AI practice partner. (anthropic.com/legal/privacy)
- ElevenLabs — generates the synthesized voice of the AI practice partner used in practice mode. (elevenlabs.io/privacy)
- Apple — handles app distribution and any subscriptions or purchases through the App Store. (apple.com/legal/privacy)
Ninja talks to these services through Gromitron's secure server-side proxy. Our API keys for these providers are held on our servers, not inside the app.
Purchases & Subscriptions
Any subscriptions or purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Gromitron does not receive or store your payment card details. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Data Storage & Retention
Your session data — transcripts, coaching history, and debriefs — is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. You can delete it from within the app at any time, and removing the app from your device removes the local session data it stored.
Microphone audio is processed transiently for transcription and is not retained by Ninja as a stored recording. Data sent to the providers listed above is retained according to their respective policies for the time needed to perform their service.
Your Choices & Rights
- Start and stop on your terms — Ninja only listens during an active session, and you can stop a session whenever you want.
- Control the microphone — you grant and can revoke microphone permission at any time in your device settings.
- Delete your data — you can delete locally stored session data from within the app.
- Ask us questions — contact us about your data using the details below.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data. To make a request, email info@gromitron.com.
Children's Privacy
Ninja is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll provide notice within the app. Continued use of Ninja after an update means you accept the revised policy.
